If You Love Football You'll Love This
Welcome to my football website my name is Mark Seltzer.
I have been involved in coaching football for over 40 years and have coached abroad in both Israel (1980/81) and the United States (1983). I have been an FA Coach Mentor since 2015 and now work with coaches from local clubs in Sussex area.
One of my first experiences was working under George Petchey at Brighton & Hove Albion School of Excellence between 1983-1987. Alongside John Shepherd and Mick Fogden we were coaching age groups u12 through to u16 and working with so many young players who went on to have successful professional contracts Mark Rice (Watford) Simon Rodger (Crystal Palace & Brighton) Steve Brown (Charlton) John Robinson (Brighton, Charlton & Wales) Steve Palmer (Ipswich) Jack Dineen (Brighton).
More recently I have coached the following players during their school years Ted Jenks (Brighton) Haydn Roberts (Brighton) Charlie Barker (Charlton)
I was Head Coach of Hangleton Rangers Youth Football Club 2005 - 2014, FA Charter Standard Development Club based in Hove playing in Sussex Sunday Youth League.
I first started with the club, coaching the then newly founded u11's girls team in 2004/05 for 3 seasons. I then took over the boys u9's in 2007/08 season until 2014 where they played in Division 1 in the Sussex Sunday Youth League. This culminated in reaching the last 16 in the Gothia Cup in Sweden.
To further the players development we took the majority of the squad to Whitehawk FC to experience three seasons at u18 football in the Ryman youth league.
In 2015 I was delighted to be appointed as a FA Coach Mentor and looked after coaches within clubs in Brighton & Hove area such as Withdean Youth, AFC Varndeneans, Rottingdean Youth, Mile Oak Wanderers. Unfortunately this role ended when contracts were not renewed due to the Covid pandemic out break in 2020.
In 2020 I took up the role as Head of Football Development at Burgess Hill Juniors looking after coach education and mentoring for coaches in the u6-u18 age groups.
I have worked as a Cover Supervisor at Blatchington Mill School since 2010 offering coaching development to all year groups, managing school teams as well as mentoring other teachers/coaches. I offer mentor support to BTEC students in their course work in sport and coaching modules.
